Major topics covered in the Business Management programme include management, marketing, economics and accounting.

The Business Management programme now comprises two pathways*:

  1. Business Management pathway
    • Level 4 Diploma in Business Management - Administration or Accounts Assistant
    • Level 5 Diploma in Business Management - Management Trainee or Supervisor
  2. Business Management – Financial Management pathway
    • Level 4 Diploma in Business Management - Administration or Accounts Assistant
    • Level 5 Diploma in Business Management - Management Trainee or Supervisor

 

2. Business Start Up and Entrepreneurship

The ABE Business Start-up and Entrepreneurship programme gives you the skills and knowledge you will need if you start your own business. It can also help you find a job or obtain a promotion, as all businesses will benefit from employing someone with an entrepreneurial outlook.

The unit syllabuses cover the essential understanding, knowledge and skills required by the entrepreneur for a new business start-up:

  • Understanding the economic importance of entrepreneurs, enterprise and small business start-ups;
  • the need to develop enterprising and innovative cultures in business;
  • spotting business opportunities;
  • the importance of knowing your customers;
  • market demand as the key to commercial viability;
  • the importance of motivation of you and your staff;
  • the importance of a well-researched and well-constructed business plan;
  • how to construct a business plan to attract potential lenders and investors;
  • the business idea;
  • staff resources and financial resources;
  • the importance of good market research before developing a business plan

3. Marketing Management

Marketing is an important function that brings companies and clients closer together. Marketing management and establishing a marketing orientated organisation with the emphasis on the customer is a core component in an organisation’s success.

Why study the Marketing Management programme?

The programme introduces students to the crucial role that marketing plays in business development. Holders of our Marketing Management qualifications will have a good knowledge and understanding of the key principles of marketing and will be able to relate this to the workplace.
